The Story:I created this picture during September 2021, following a visit to Devon. It shows an ancient road between banks of trees along which I walked several times during the course of a brief holiday in the South Hams, Devon. I loved the ferns and ivy that clung to the banks side of the road. I used strong brushstrokes and emphatic greens to convey my joy at being out in nature. My style could be described as neoexpressionist. I try to capture how a place makes me feel rather than to create a literal representation.
Materials: acrylic painting with metallic acrylic colours and pen on stretched canvas.
dimensions: 45 x 55x 3 cm portrait orientation.
Framing : The painting is sold in a white float frame.
Special notes: 20% of price donated to Moor Trees charity.
