A vibrant original artwork on canvas.

I created this picture during September 2021, following a visit to Devon. It shows an ancient road between banks of trees along which I walked several times during the course of a brief holiday in the South Hams, Devon. I loved the ferns and ivy that clung to the banks side of the road.

I used strong brushstrokes and emphatic greens to convey my joy at being out in nature. My style could be described as neoexpressionist. I try to capture how a place makes me feel rather than to create a literal representation.

This is an acrylic painting with metallic acrylic colours and pen, made on stretched canvas.

Dimensions are 51×41×2 cm.

The painting is sold unframed. It can be used straight on the wall without a frame or you can add a float frame for extra impact.

About Me:

I am a self-taught artist who celebrates the beauty of nature.  I started painting 4 years ago to escape the pain of a chronic condition called fibromyalgia.  Art has changed my life.  Last year, one of my paintings was included in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2021, and I was part of a BBC2 documentary which can still be seen on iPlayer.  (Link on my website).  My work has been shown in the prestigious Mall Galleries.

Please be aware that colours may look slightly different on screen to in reality.  The way they look on screen is determined by your screen settings.
