A vibrant original artwork on stretched canvas.

This is part of a series of paintings created during summer 2021, inspired by walks in the wetland areas around Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.I have called it Grandfather' s Footsteps because I noticed that my style here bears a striking resemblance to paintings created by my Hungarian grandfather (whom I never knew).

I used strong brushstrokes and emphatic greens to convey my joy at being out in nature. My style could be described as neoexpressionist. I try to capture how a place makes me feel rather than to create a literal representation.

Dimensions are 31×41 cm × 2 cm.

The painting sold unframed. It can be added to the wall using the existing hanging attachment or for extra impact it can be displayed in a float frame.

About Me:

I am a self-taught artist who celebrates the beauty of nature.  I started painting 4 years ago to escape the pain of a chronic condition called fibromyalgia.  Art has changed my life.  Last year, one of my paintings was included in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2021, and I was part of a BBC2 documentary which can still be seen on iPlayer.  (Link on my website).  My work has been shown in the prestigious Mall Galleries.
