A vibrant original artwork on canvas.

This is part of a series of paintings I created in summer 2021. It is inspired by walks around the Suffolk town of Bury St Edmunds. Here, I discovered a new walk with unfamiliar trees. We looked them up on an app from the Woodlands trust and we thought they were White Poplars.

I used strong brushstrokes and emphatic greens to convey my joy at being out in nature. My style could be described as neoexpressionist. I try to capture how a place makes me feel rather than to create a literal representation.

Dimensions are 31×41 cm by 2 cm.

This painting is unframed.  You can put it directly onto the wall using the hanging attachment  or for extra impact you can add a float frame.

About Me:

I am a self-taught artist who celebrates the beauty of nature.  I started painting 4 years ago to escape the pain of a chronic condition called fibromyalgia.  Art has changed my life.  Last year, one of my paintings was included in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2021, and I was part of a BBC2 documentary which can still be seen on iPlayer.  (Link on my website).  My work has been shown in the prestigious Mall Galleries.
