An original artwork on canvas.

This painting was inspired by walks around the Suffolk town of Bury St Edmunds. I passed this gate regularly but it is marked private so I can't go in. It intrigues me and is full of possibilities. The motif of the gate also interests me as it speaks of looking back to childhood and also forward to an unformed future.

Created with acrylic paint and pen on stretched canvas. The use of strong saturated greens and metallic acrylic paint gives the painting emphasis and depth.  Its colours change in different lights.

This is one of my personal favourite pictures.

Dimensions are 60x60 cm by 2 cm depth.

This painting is created with acrylic paint on stretched canvas.  It is sold unframed but the internal frame of the canvas gives it structure and it can be used without a frame or paired with your choice of frame for extra emphasis.

About Me

I am a self-taught artist who celebrates the beauty of nature. I started painting 5 years ago to escape the pain of a chronic condition called fibromyalgia. Art has changed my life. One of my paintings was included in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2021, and I was part of a BBC2 documentary.
