Mixed media on art board
This is a painting of fields seen from the train on my last journey before lockdown in Spring 2020. I love the Suffolk countryside and have done many pictures of the fields through the different seasons. I love taking photographs and making quick sketches from the train window. The unorthodox methodology gives my artworks a dynamic quality – big fields and big sky rushing past.
Here, I have used mixed media, including wax resist, on art board. The wax resist gives a lovely textured look to the sky. In this picture I convey a sense of unease at the impending corona pandemic, but in contrast I can still celebrate the beauty of the spring hedgerows.
The painting is size A3. 30 x 42 cm.
I am offering it framed in a classic wood and glass frame, dimensions 20 x 16″, 51 x 41 cm.
If you would prefer to take it unframed for your own styling, just let me know.
