This painting was inspired by walks in the Suffolk countryside during spring and early summer. I love to see the Hawthorn and Blackthorn in the hedgerows, and always enjoy painting them. Here I used acrylic paint and pen on stretched canvas to create a small but vibrant picture of a field near to Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.
The painting is sold unframed, but you can hang it straight on the wall without a frame as the painting wraps around the sides of the canvas. Alternatively you can put it in a frame for extra impact.
Size 41 x 31 cm, 12 x 16"
I am a self-taught artist who celebrates the beauty of nature. I started painting 4 years ago to escape the pain of a chronic condition called fibromyalgia. Art has changed my life. Last year, one of my paintings was included in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2021, and I was part of a BBC2 documentary which can still be seen on iPlayer. (Link on my website). My work has been shown in the prestigious Mall Galleries.
