Acrylic and wax resist on artboard
Painted in 2021, this landscape was inspired by late summer fields in the village of Maiden Bradley in Wiltshire. The mood is nostalgic, longing for the freedom to visit the good friends who live in this village, and go walks together. When I suffer bad pain due to fibromyalgia, painting takes me to another place where my mind can relax and focus on the practice of making art. It’s a form of mindfulness.
The wax resist gives the surface of the painting a lovely crackling texture to represent glancing sunlight.
This picture is made with acrylic paint on art board. It is size A3, 42 x 30 cm, and sold unframed
